I have seen several reports today about the IRS targeting the Tea party and other conservative non profit groups. Basically they did NOT allow them non profit status based on their political views! I have looked for a link to post with it but was unable to find one because the liberal media is keeping it hushed.

This is being covered up as quickly as the benghazi slaughter. It will come out in the end.
I just wrote a comment about something YOD posted.

The EPA and the IRS and many more agencies... Have become government, that is ruling by decree... WITH OUT the consent of the people and WITHOUT the authority granted them... BY THE PEOPLE. These are not elected officials. These are agencies that are supposed to be controlled by elected officials.

THIS IS CLEARLY... GOVERNMENT GONE WILD.

Sadly, the average person has become so dumbed down... Thank God for musicians.

I'm quite sure that it was very sincere when they apologized, yet no one was fired or reprimanded over it. :)

Political non-profit groups?

They profit in politics by buying political gains. I say tax them to fvcking kimgdom come. And tax religion too. No reason someone gets off tax free just for sharing a group delusion.

The point is a MAJOR federal agency TARGETED a specific group.

Next time it will be people that have names starting with a K...

Yes. This round is about setting precedence in all things. The coming rounds will be about moping up without a fight or fear of reprisals.

Just my quick 2 cents, the reason these groups were scrutinized is because they are taking advantage of a loophole put in the tax code back in 1959. The original language said that a group could only get a tax exempt status if the reason for the group was EXCLUSIVELY for the benefit of social good. They changed it to define exclusively as meaning PRIMARILY. This is a word lawyers love because who is to say how much constitutes primarily? 51%? 75%? Therefore groups could gain tax exempt status and still be politically active by claiming that they are primarily involved in programs that benefit society. This is too subjective; as Kramer said, I say get rid of ALL tax exemptions for all groups.

I read that two other offices also were involved in the IRS targeting. Naturally all three, although in different states across the country, must have been spontaneous targeting by low level employees. Kinda like a target virus amongst employees or something like that. :)

Over the past five years there has been an explosion of groups with "Teaparty" in their names seeking tax exempt status. It is the IRS's job to investigate these groups to determine if they are truly eligible for exemption.

Then they could have, SHOULD have, gone after the biggest one....George Soros. But no, he is the financial backbone of the Obama campaign and politial strategy. He has formed tax-free foundations that use my tax money to fund people I do NOT support.

Yet he gets no hindrance whatsoever for this very shady and questionable use of our tax code, while anyone with "support the Constitution" in their mission statement gets scrutiny, harassment, and intimidation

And tax religion too. No reason someone gets off tax free just for sharing a group delusion.

They're getting a break because they perform social services that the government can't do at 10x the cost.

If you hate religion so much, please avoid using their services, ok? Try to find a good hospital now.

They are harassing people based on a political ideology. Intimidation is the only agenda.

If this isn't vigorously opposed and stopped, the next step will be full-blown fascist dictatorship. Is that what you want really?

Every American should be concerned about this revelation and vocal about stopping it before it becomes accepted practice in Washington DC

The thing is, a political group should not be tax exempt. Some of these groups even abdicate the overthrow of our government. Why should they not pay taxes? Here's another view:

I guess you would apply this same ideology to the NAACP? Remember the videos of them telling a hooker how to get government grants? This whole thing is subjective. As long as it doesn't effect YOUR side right?
