Had an interesting Day today: Coffee with Marina Sirtis (Counselor Troy Of "Next Generation"), a great chat with Dana Snyder (Adult Swim), Assisted Herb Jefferson (Glactica & TJ Hooker), Got Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca of Star wars) to laugh at one of my silly jokes, Described a great local resturaunt here in town to Tony Amendola (Stargate) , tried to get Joseph Gatt to spill the beans on his roll in a new movie...and helped Larry Nemecek (Wrath of Kahn) pick out some photos for a panel showing. I get to do this again tomorrow...

Yes sir!

My Brother and his wife just threw their first convention and managed to get these celebs to attend.

He asked me to volunteer and assist the celebs throughout the day...

I have never been a trekkie or nerd-geek... (and believe me there is a host of em out there). So I never really got excited about SyFi... I would not have done this but for the fact that he asked me...

So I did and it turns out these are very nice people...pretty down to earth.

My Nephew took one stinkin photo of me, girlfriend, Mahew and his wife. ... Soon as I get hold of it... I'l post it. This was the guest list for the convention...http://suncityscifi.com/category/guests/

(the event was Promoted by my Brother, his wife and their son. )

My role in this was basically to grab coffee, escort, see to whatever they required. They were very nice, low maintenance ... SO I got to chat behind the scenes with all of them...and they shared quite a few tidbits about their careers, etc. One of the guests: Aaron Douglas, happens to be friends with somebody in Anthrax. We talked a little about music. He was interested to hear some of my links... (After I plugged them shamelessly)...I Told him she should drink a lot of coffee first LOL!

EDIT Not his wife...but my girlfriend.

I am a Trekkie and nerd-geek when it comes to my limited television viewing! I don't watch T.V. for entertainment very much. When I do it is SyFy or Big Bang Theory! The hotties in SyFy IMO are T'Pol (Jolene Blalock) and Marina Sirtis! Next year tell your brother to book those two and get LOTS of pics with them!

Yep I feel really stupid about this...I was so busy, I didn't think to bring my own camera (I really cant stand it , to be honest...cause if I m busy with shooting, I miss out on the actual interaction.)

But if they do this again, I'll definitely make better arrangements. The other thing was that I was called in at the last minute to fill in spots of others...(escorts, who missed their planes) So I didnt really know what to expect or what my situation was, till I got there...

I'm not really a syfy geek per se but I do enjoy the movies as they come out.

For what its worth, Marina Sirtis is anything BUT her character...She's quite the ducky personality in real life. And here's some heart inspiring AND Heart breaking news...I was asking her about how she handles scripts, etc.. and somehow, the subject of Tribute bands came up (re her husband is in a Steely Dan and a Led Zep tribute band in Los Angeles) I asked her if he wrote any original material, and she replied - (paraphrasing) "No...Nobody wants originals from 50 year olds...It doesn't sell..." Wellllll....you can imagine the clay-pigeon burst, in that shot... LOL!

She still has sexy legs...but her age is starting to creep in.

Peter Mahew is a giant...literally 7' + He's also an incredibly pleasant guy to talk to... Such a good nature...Not stuffy or caught up in his own exhaust. His wife, Angie, travels with him a lot now, because his health isn't top notch anymore. Hes a smoker, and i caught him out back ...we had a great chat...he's very fond of El Paso.

He's tthe only guy I got to take a picture with..and my dang nephew has it... Soon, I'll be able to post it...whenever I can pin him down...
