My machine got attacked last night by an IP in IRAQ.
(199.255.161.259)

I think it has something to do with my infidel remarks and I notice that this site isn't very well protected.

I had to change my password and a few other little diddies, but I noticed what was going on. I just thought that it would be handled by whatever admin is supposed to be doing their job.

Now that I have a bad suspicion that my machine is unprotected while I am on this site, it's a whole new ball of wax.

I wish all of you well but I can't afford to have my information slammed while on this site. I am still trying to work it out, but frankly this just reinforces what I suspected a while ago.

Ive never gotten anything from this site, But then I try to be careful what links I punch on.

But if this site is giving you trouble then I dont blame you for staying off ot it. If thats the case will miss your commentary and good luck in your music!

I use Linux, those spammy things aren't well liked.

I think you have probably visited something else myself. I hate the adds here, but folks is good. (Most times).

hope ya can get things worked.....we'd miss your input around these parts.

i remember back when I would get malware attacks from the banner ads on this site. LOL. I was pissed at the time, but win 7 and SE does a much better job of basic level protection.

More info on the attack scotty? Saying iran bombed your PC doesn't tell us much, but there's easy ways to block them. I doubt they did anything thru this site directly, but nothing is impossible.

...I for one will miss you. For me you are an integral part of this Site. "Society" as it has come to be known by many is now ending. There are many points of view and many theories, reasons and observations ... BUT they all agree upon one thing ... it is over and what has been is no longer and will indeed never be again.

The banner ads are just like any other ads you see on other sites - they flag other sites you've been at in order to target you with ads you are more likely to be interested in. Go visit sweetwater, american musical, guitar center and music 123 and come back here and watch the banner ads.
In every browser there is a way to delete all the cookies that browsing the web leaves, easy enough to do and you can even set your browser to dump them each time you close it down.

If you hav an anti-virus, + windows Firewall , you should not be having these issues...

If you haven't already get your music/work on a removable or separate storage device. Nothing worse than losing the hours you put into music or anything w/o a back-up!
There are plenty of scumbags that do nothing but try to breach others info... protect yourself first!

I was headed to Europe last month and while using my laptop in JFK someone hacked my email and sent bogus spam to all my contacts. Damn, how did they do that? I quickly rolled back my Win7 to an earlier date and changed my password. A scan confirmed I was clean. What a PITA

Airport 'free' WIFI service is notorious for this type of thing.
