Hey everyone!

Have a website that is strictly for fun and to give musicians an exercise or project to work on in their free time. The site receives lyrics from an array of lyricists where then the lyrics are voted for. The winning lyrics are posted and are open up to any musician or band to create a song from them. Check out the winning lyrics at www.thelyricalchallenge.com if you would like to participate just to see how you match up against the other musicans. Its a great way to get some views on your work! Please let me know if you have any questions.

I've taken the challenge! Took about 3 hours to record tracks (and a quick video) for the offered lyrics, and 1-2 hours for the general mix. Just have to tweak the mix a little now. I find it easier to do this when I'm not emotionally invested in the song (the way I am when they are my lyrics).

I think I'm going to open a new shop in town.

I'm going to have a "cashier challenge" !!

you 'man' the register a full 8-hour shift, showing the world your chops and skills, customer service is after all, an ART ! Give the customers a "voting card" so they can decide who the contest winner is! Prizes include:

*30 minute lunch break (you buy your own food)
*A certified and enthusiastic High-Five at both the end of your shift and additionally when you win.
*A coupon for 10% off one item in the store
*Satisfaction of winning!
* Exposure!!

Got a message from the lyric writer of this challenge, wanting to know if I was interested in collaborating more with him. However his style is 'mostly country', and I didn't have heart to tell him his lyrics lack rhythmic balance! :wink:

Mike,

I agree! The lyrics did lack rhythmic balance. Great job in the challenge by the way! That is exactly what we were looking for! Its about taking a set of lyrics you are not used and expressing it in song form. We appreciate taking part in this. There will be another challenge after this one that is open to any and all musicians. You are always welcomed back, Mike. Good luck in the rest of the voting!
