Ready to punch

How do you keep order and keep things moving forward in the studio, when you have smartasses who give you friction, and are certain they could operate things just as well as you?
"How hard could it be??"
"We'll the basic recording of your tracks is not that hard, but there's no giant button that's marked 'make it sound good' "
Engineering and Producing are both - not as hard as you think, And, harder than you think.
I'm not trying to play 'Boss', and I try to make them feel comfortable and suggest things in nice ways. I ask things in nice ways. I still get static.
It's really only 2 guys that are the problem, but I'm getting more and more ready to punch them.
