I took a turn with the Merle Haggard classic in honor of my 101 year old Grandmother! She's still kickin'! And Merle is her favorite. It's in my player.

God bless her and you did a good thing Merle Haggard is probably one of the better song writers of his time.your grandmother knows what she like and likes what she knows.

I didn't know they covered that. I was in a band once with all GD fans. We covered "good lovin'" I was all "why are we playing this so slow?!?!?" Then I found out they knew it from the dead. I was like "boys, we need to get on track with the Rascals version! It's bangin'!"

Thanks! It was doubled lead vocals, doubled one harmony part, then added two more. The lead guitar work is doubled and fully panned as well. No, it's not slide. That's a bend at the end of the solo. I still can't play slide. Per usual for me I played all guitar parts on my 4 string cigar box guitar seen here...

This one actually was easy. I got it done MUCH faster than usual. Start to upload was maybe 5-6 hours.

A real 'get down to the country' version, Paul!

Here's a video of the Dead from '87 doing it: http://youtu.be/znrQtaiUyE8 Not the best audio, but its live, not just a still picture with music, and Jerry was still kicking then.

Thanks Mike. I sought out a Dead version this morning out of curiosity. I'll keep my opinion to myself out of respect for deadguitars. :)

Nice job Paul! I think there is a slice of country boy in you for sure. I really wanted to lay a little Tele spank on top of that.

Aint no biggie .... The GD is def not for everyone -esp if you are into nice tight arrangements and sweet vocals
Great job on your version N.Paul !
