1942 Martin

Tonight an old lady from church gave her late husband's 1942 martin 00-17 guitar to a 17 year old kid also from church. It's value is $3k - $5k. The kid is extremely talented. Man!! I'm stoked for that kid! It's the kid from this thread...

lucky kid. those are wonderful little gtrs. i know...i have a '36 that i picked up for $250 back in nyc around 1975.

shortly after i got it, i bought one of those old De'Armond soundhole p/u's for it and there it stayed til about a month ago when i sold the pickup (since this is NOT a gtr i take to gigs anymore, there's no need for a p/u).....boy, it looks weird WITHOUT the pickup on it!
