On his deathbed, Aldous Huxley had his wife inject him with a large dose of LSD-25. He died of his cancer later that day, but I wonder if that was a long, strange trip. I'm sure he opened the Doors of Perception.

The End.

having seen a few people die of cancer
I doubt his last bit of circus performing really took the edge off.
I'm sure it really sucked.

I've given that last IVP of Morphine more times than I really care to recall.

Give relief so they can relax enough to pass.

Most memorable was a gentleman whom had fought the good fight and finally decided to come off the vent . . .

We turned it off.
He looked at me, unable to breath and mouthed the words "thank you George" and smiled . . . he smiled . . . I cry at the thought even now.

His son caught me in a Pizza Hut and hugged me like family about a year latter.
He looked so much like his father I almost sh*t myself

I've thought about a living will. I sure don't want to linger in a hospital hooked up to machines.

It's a good idea Jimmy.
But unfortunately, not as fool proof as it would seem.
More than once I've stepped away from a NO CODE patient with all the appropriate documentation in place. Only to have a wife, daughter or other family member freak out screaming OH GOD OH GOD DO SOMETHING SAVE MY DADDY / HUSBAND etc.

At that point, will or no will, we have to go into full life support mode.
( usually senselessly beating a corpse for 45 minutes before an MD will finally call it off )

Make sure ALL your family are on the same page.

Thank you for the thoughts and blessing.

I however do not believe there is such a thing as a "good man".

There are those whom think they are, and those of whom know in no uncertain terms, that they are not.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. BULL.

Sans I have listened to your band progress through the last 4 years. I have read the the kindness in your words... even when there is frustration. You have written about the love you have for your family and friends, and the concerns about all your fellow men.

You are a GOOD MAN!
