The government would have a heyday if pot was legal. See what they did with tobacco?

Krul, You have to always remember... The government is the people, not a separate entity. The government is owned by YOU and ME. It is NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

Last time I looked I was still in America.

I detest the drug war. But when I hear "yeah -and the govt could tax it and make gazillions...;" I am horrified.

Do we really want the United States govt to have more money to spend "helping" us?

Not me baby.

My favorite argument is the "weed is so much better than alcohol" argument.

I'll fix that...
Weed is "not as bad as" alcohol.

Weed is "not as bad as" alcohol.

Weed is bad.

Now I'll elaborate.

Crashing into a brick wall with seat belts and air bags is not nearly as dangerous as crashing into a wall with no belts or air bags.

Crashing into a brick wall with seat belts and air bags is not nearly as dangerous as crashing into a wall with no belts or air bags.

Crashing into a brick wall with seat belts and air bags is dangerous.

Another favorite argument is all the potheads, AKA people who smoke pot for pleasure to get high who fight furiously for medical marijuana.

Duh, you only get to smoke it if you have medical conditions. You don't automatically get to smoke pot for fun to get high just because a cancer patient gets his appetite back from it.

Healthy people inhaling ANY smoke into their healthy lungs. SMH.
Stupid.

Not disagreeing with your logic, but what you present here would be disqualified in a formal debate. The creature here is the issue of a "lesser" of two evils... Not the definition of the evil. Its been shown, statistically, that people who wear seat bealts are less likely to succumb to fatal injuries than people who don't wear seat-belts. Therefore, its a safe inference to suggest that Crashing into a brick wall with seat belts and air bags is not nearly as dangerous as crashing into a wall with no belts or air bags.. But, to be fair... there are limits to that inference, because if we crash into a wall , doing mach 1, the lesser of two evils becomes moot.

After smoking weed it's unlikely anyone will drive fast enough to harm the car or the brick wall if they make contact. 8)

Other than the fact that inhaling any kind of smoke is probably not particularly good for you, I see only one argument against smoking the wacky tobaccy:

That's those heroes wearing SWAT costumes and carrying military style weaponry - the ones whose prime directive is to keep themselves safe. Hence their war on weed - those meth and coke and scag dealers are pretty scary guys - so lets bust up Harry the Hippie and shoot his dog.
