How to Win Any Climate Change Argument

I think there needs to be more arrows to the 'let's have a drink' part!

In a series of studies in 2005 and 2006, researchers at the University of Michigan found that when misinformed people, particularly political partisans, were exposed to corrected facts in news stories, they rarely changed their minds. In fact, they often became even more strongly set in their beliefs. Facts, they found, were not curing misinformation. Like an underpowered antibiotic, facts could actually make misinformation even stronger.

If I recall correctly, we only have about a year or so left before Al Gore's 10 year prediction of catastrophe hits. Just wouldn't be proper science without alarmists screaming bloody murder.

The scientific crowd is suffering from what Kramer describes right now. Eyes wide shut for fear of being ousted from the scientific community as a "denyer".

I have a prediction for you. One of these days, a moth is going to flutter its wings in China and cause a hurricane in Florida...

You forgot to mention that they have discovered trees that had grown under the glaciers in Antarctica when it was once a once tropical climate.

Back in those days the prehistoric people bitched about driving SUV's and humans stopped driving them. Next thing you know it became an uninhabitable Iceland. Rather a be careful what you wish for moment to those prehistoric folks.

Now explain why the sun is out of the equation and the fact that other planets in our solar system are also warming. Or should I say were warming, since we have been in a cooling trend for some time. But every warm winter (The greenies seem to disappear during the colder winters) and during every warm day there is a lameatream media blitz on global warming. Oh yeah, screwed up again. They had to change global warming to climate change since the proof that we have been cooling was presented.

Climate change? Sorry baby, as Ian Hunter would say, "once bit and twice shy..."

Any idea why modern office buildings don't have windows that will open? Climate change my friends! It was the terrifying new ice age that was approaching at breakneck speed - in the '70s...

And like Slacker noted - does the Sun have nothing to do with climate?

I personally believe that if we executed ALL the politicians in the world, a temperate climate would descend upon us and life would become wonderful. Send me 5$ and a self addressed stamped envelope and I'm sure I can dredge up some charts that will prove this conclusively.

I could be wrong of course - but how will we know until we try?

I would argue that population control is desperately needed.. we are nearing 7Bil resource-drains on the planet. There's just no way we can sustain what we have, much less double it every 15 years. This is why the human race is doomed. That, and capitalism, which by very nature calls for population increases, the more the better.

When Scandinavians settled Greenland they were farming. Fifty years later there wasn't any soil to farm, it was ice, and the colony disappeared.
In the dinosaur era the Earth was much warmer than today. We are going through an anomaly. Whether it's man-made or not is conjecture. Right now March in K.C. is 13 degrees below normal.
When everybody is freezing their ass off, like in SoUTHERN China this WINTER I wonder which faction will be "in vogue."

Or just read a little about Earth's climate history. Climate Optimum (Warmer than now) sounded pretty good.

Dinosaur farts must have ben pretty potent. It was a lot warmer then.
