It's driving me nuts.

I just came here to talk to some guys around my age who just happen to play good quality pop and soft rock music. The "fans" of the artists I enjoy just drive me nuts because a lot of those fans are female and mostly in their teens, while the guys I keep coming across HATE pop and soft rock and think that being a hard core rocker is superior, not to mention coming across those who are already pursuing a full time career playing music.

Help me figure out better ways to spot trolls on here, and to get more of the infomration I would like to get out of my requests, and to "complain" better without coming off as whiny.

I am a smart, talented, individual who is looking for something that's much rarer to come by, and therefore, the individual needs to actually work with me to help me find what I'm looking for.

Everytime you hi-jack one of my threads, the whole thread becomes forgotten, or turns into some ugly tangent about how I'm the one being an asshole.

And also what is up with other people encouraging these trolls, instead of those people listening to me?

For example, look at how fast people responded to the last topic I posted. The one where I was asking about handsome guys around my age who happen to play pop and soft rock music, so I could subscribe to some likeable and talented guy musicians, whether they play music as their hobby, or as an actual way to make a living.

Why do I keep running into older musicians who think heavy rock music is superior rather than a WIDER variety? Someone with eclectic music tastes?

And why do I keep running into people who think they can be all impressive by doing stupid stuff over the internet? Where are the individuals who are intelligent, and who know better than to do all of the stuff I've seen not only on this board, but on places like YouTube and Craigslist? Why do I keep running into people who are "trying to be cool" rather than individuals like me who are past that stage?

I have a feeling that was posted as sarcasm, not as a genuine way to help me stand up to these jerks. Another thing I keep running into. People who are shallow and listen to rumors about me, and use sarcasm and whatnot.

People who use message boards as a playground, and people who are easily distracted. What happened to good quality message boards where people are much more personable, and talk with people who like more of the same music, and who share tips and tricks to help each other improve, talk about songs they are working on, share any new music that's out there, and help each other learn about other places to search, and who aren't quite so sensitive to having a suggestion turned down?

There has GOT to be some out there somewhere. I mean, there aren't a whole lot of guys that play soft rock and pop, but quite a few of them ARE in fact guys: for example, Matt Nathanson, Richard Marx, Adam Lambert, David Archuleta, David Cook, Chris Daughtry, Howie Day, Justin Timberlake, and Chris Carrabba, Adam Young a.k.a, Owl City.

And I am NOT using this site as a dating agency. The kind of things you guys assume is just appalling. Stop being rude in my posts, and learn to ask questions first BEFORE you respond. That's also another thing that's driving me nuts. The shallow responses you guys give.
