4 weeks, 4 open mics
Posted: Fri Mar 01, 2013 3:56 pmSo, now I've done 4 OMs at 2 locations, getting a better feel for them and realize I'm going to have to move around to get hear/meet other people. Last week (on a Friday) at this venue the place was jammed and there were at least 10 people playing. Last night (Thursday) I got there 20 minutes early to sign up and was the first one there besides the host. 2 otehr guys showed up while the host did his opening songs, and 1 guy got there around 8:45 (start time was 7).
So I did my 3 songs on uke early, then borrowed the host's guitar and did 5 songs later. As the place was very empty it was more relaxed and as I hadn't planned on any guitar songs, I chose ones I know 'by heart' so as to not stumble.
Maybe I'm not the greatest singer, or player, but there are sure plenty of people out there with less skill and ability!
