Just got word in Toronto, that my hand made Sitar is about to be shipped! I'm stoked!

I know some Indian resturaunts...
right here in this town,
about to feature them a Texas boy
with a Texas-hindu sound ...

Now, I wont know what I'm doing,
Maybe, I'm just a c lown...
But while the Chai tea's brewing...
Gonna turn them upside down... :)

I wonder which is harder to toss in a dumpster! Ha. I kid. I dig both of those instruments.

Say, Grant...do know what perfect pitch is?

Tossing a sitar into a dumpster from ten feet away!

Since I care what Dane thinks, I will tell you that it is harder to figure out a bagpipe than a sitar .. especially for a guitar player.

Once you got the sitar tuned, you mostly just play melody on one string while hitting a few open strings tuned to the tonic and fifth for rhythmic effect.

Tuning the Irish uilleann bag pipes can depend on how your reeds are behaving or misbehaving on a particular day. You pump air into the bag with the bellows under the right arm. You control the air pressure by the pressure of your left arm on the bag. You play melody on the chanter using the fingers and thumbs of the right and left hands while playing harmonic accompaniment on the regulators with the edge of the right hand. All this while smoking a leprechaun pipe that is upside down.

,,,, Oh yes, and ... good for you Paperdog!
:D

I thought perfect pitch was being able to pluck out the lowest bass note from the most reasonable distance... (It requires the use of a car)

Now leave my sitar alone

Thank you Planetguy!!

It is nice to be missed ... especially since seeing all the boasting about new guns in some other threads.

Hopefully Paperdog will post some pics or vid of his sitar. Sounds it will be a really nice quality instrument.
