Haley thats one of the toughest songs I do lead wise, that scratch thing, I just dont ever practice it.

Im running my amp in my vintage setting and kicking the front end with my TS-9, Ive actually started just leaving it on all the time, and use the guitar volume. I had the guitar at about 4 on the volume for that song.

Then Im using a Bad Horsie II to kick in a little way.

On the scratchy part. I have the volume off on my neck pickup and use it as an off/on switch, and you just rub your fingers over the bridge pickup. I also kick in another distortion pedal I used called a Black Jack, to make the pickup more sensitive to the scratching. Oh yeah I kick in the solo button on the amp to boost it also, if you dont really jack it, the guitar just falls out on that part.

I hadnt played this song in I dont know when, and having a gig next sat I need to work on the scratchy part.

We also recorded Killing in the Name, but for some reason I cant get it to load up in my photobucket, or rather its taking so damn long to just put 4-5 minutes in there, I will keep trying.

We also did the Rooster, and it came out pretty good.

Thanks for the comments, Im loving the tone of my amp and guitar these days, but Ive really tweaked on that sucker a lot, and been playing alot.

Hmmm, we have a firewall and a DMZ but I've never seen it block a video, at least not a YouTube video. BTW we used to do "Killing in the Name Of", fun tune.

Jimmy Ive never been a big fan of RATM, I cant stand that singers vocal tone for some reason, but thier stuff has an attitude to it and covering the solos is tougher than most bands for me. I like Morello a lot, he did Tom Joad with Bruce at that Sandy Benefit and did some killer delay solo work. I would like to see him mix it up with more bands to be honest.

Hopefully I will get it loaded and on here today?!?!?!

I just checked, Im going on 2 hours loading the song.

How long does it take most of you to load stuff to photobucket?

OK maybe it will load now.

Killing In The Name, I use my modern channel, TS-9 in, Phasor on the first bars, then kick back to vintage channel for the verses.

The solo is a whammy solo, its basically a D pentatonic scale with the whammy set at 2 octaves up, its the only way Ive ever figured out how to make the solo sound right, the whammy is essential for it. I kick the amp back to the modern setting for it, with the solo button punched.

We do play a lot of cheesy stuff just because we have too, but we can get pretty damn heavy, which is funny cause I dont consider myself to be a heavy player, in this band I was telling our singer and bassist that I felt like I was the light weight in the group, cause I do like a lot of other things, they just looked at me and laughed. You think your not heavy??? Our singer said man Ive played with you for 25 yrs, and Ive got a buzz in my ear from your light ass playing!!! LOL! oh well

Someone let me know if you can see this one, thanks
