For sure. Are you having problems with a Line 6 device, Dane?

I see a ton of issues on the Line 6 forums - people posting about problems with UX1 and UX2 devices.
I started out with a Guitarport (which still works) to USB my guitar into Gearbox and PodFarm, but now use the full PodFarm plugin in Reaper, and if I DI the guitar, I plug right into my Tascam US-800, as its 24 bit, the Guitarport is only 16 bit.

yes, problems Mike, I have a Line 6 Toneport UX2 interface, long story short, I had given up on it years ago when I first got it, deciding my puter is not "strong enough" to allow it to work..the UX2 device to my understanding has it's own sound card per se, so don't think my problems have to do with a sub-standard sound card, the USB "stream" is the culprit? I think..but nonetheless I purchased at a musical instrument auction several years ago, a TASCAM 424mkIII Portastudio and for the first time tested it for operation yesterday (sat on a shelf in storage room for years) and it's a 4 track cassette player, thinking if I can't record with the UX2 I will record with the cassette 4 track player and use line signal out from it to line signal INPUT of the UX2 and then use the UX2's USB ability to get the tracks on tape into the computer and go from there.. on a sidenote only 3 tracks are working on the Portastudio channel 1 does not function only 2,3, and 4 do.. what a bummer.. buyer beware when purchasing stuff at auction.. the UX2 I bought new from ZZounds I think..by the way UX2 is no longer being produced, and mine is basically new in box

If your UX2 is that old, it might be running USB 1, which was always problematic. New USB 2 devices work great, and I hear USB 3 (devices and computers that have it are still not numerous) is even better.

Well, I guess that answers that - it's USB 1.1 ... sorry.

Mike, what I've noticed is a lot of the problems are with the Toneport UX2 hooked up to 64bit Windows 7 puters.. you are aware there are 2 different and distinct classes of UX2 audio interfaces Toneport UX2 and POD UX2 which is still available for purchase..the Toneport has been discontinued..

Yeah, someone gave me a Toneport (might have been UX1) along with a couple of pedals when I took an ESP LTD-50 off his hands. Sold the Toneport for $35 and one of the pedals for $15 so the guitar ended up costing me $40!

Dane, did you check to see if you are using USB 2.0 on your PC?

(device manager, usb controllers, look for USB2 ENHANCED HOST CONTROLLER)

If you don't see it, you generally download the update from the windows site and if you do not see it, I can guarantee that your system is reverting to an USB1 driver which will make anything USB2 compatible run on USB1.

Fun, huh?

They figure if you aren't informed enough to decipher what the issue is, you couldn't possibly need the speed for anything critical. (bastards)
