Cutting for a new album today

We're going to cut 3 or 4 songs today in Northridge CA. I'll spend 3 more days here doing vocals and whatnot. Coming back in June to do some more, and probably finish cutting in August.

It's a departure from anything I've recorded since the 80s, roots rock Americana and some blues/jazz. I think even Jimmy will like it. :-)

I've got an amazing and hugely credible Producer on this thing hiring the right people...pinching myself 'cause it seems too good to be true. My most immediate hope is to get some of this first batch placed with a major artist by the summer, and throw some downloads up on my website.

But shooting for a November release date on the whole thing. Oh, I love the process of putting a musical idea into fixed form!

Excited about the future.

Cutting for a new album, sounded painful! I wonder if anybody's ever been circumcised for a new CD, kind of like a rite of passage! I wish I was in your shoes. I'll be (hopefully) putting together a CD this year. Won't be as produced as yours I'm sure, but basically give me the satisfaction of accomplishing what I should have done many years ago. Good luck, and most definitely let us know when it's complete, when and where we can BUY it, as opposed to a FREE download. You deserve to be paid for your fine work. (As in being able to afford groceries and utility bills...)

Northridge?? That is about 30 minutes from my house. Want some company? I will be tied up today and tonight with V-Day festivities but could get away tomorrow (Friday). I have nothing to offer your project but I could take you to lunch or something.

Wish I had thought about that, Johnny, last week when I was in Redlands and could have hung out with you on the way.

We're not cutting on Friday because I'm playing that evening and need to set up early afternoon, but I'd love to meet you for a late lunch somewhere along the way between Simi Valley and Irvine. I'll buy!

Venice or Hollywood maybe?

thanks bro! Coming from a guitarist as talented as you, that means a lot.

So I mailed your Las Vegas t-shirt (finally) a few days ago. When it arrives, you have to take a picture with it on and post that here for us.

Ever heard of a Zydeco artist named Lisa Haley? Any relation?

Done! Name the time and place Ted.

Venice will be gorgeous with temps in the 70s tomorrow but Friday 405 traffic will be crushing. I suggest N. Hollywood or Burbank area. If you like I'll get a recommendation from a friend who lives nearby. Calif cafe style? Mex? Good Burger? LA has everything you could imagine to eat and I graze it all. You can reach me privately at nine zero nine....
