Nice track... Will it sell? Who knows???

Don't get in too big a rush to sign a recording contract though. Consider the wise words of a guy who has been in the music business for a very long time first:

Which artists do you emulate? Put this tune on Jango alongside artists you think this tune stacks up well against. In other words, test market it, globally. Don't sign any stupid record deal until you thoroughly test market first.
You have a pleasant voice, not powerful, yet with a nice presence. The tune fits your voice.
I can't say if it's a possible hit. That may depend on other things, most notably image.

yes, you need an image at least as impressive as the ban named fun had at the Grammy's..

Real pleasant sound, however look at your mix again. During the first verse, there is a (high hat?) sound like a metronome in the right channel. During the second verse, after drums come in, it repeats, but more like the snare (are you using drum software?) I'd suggest some EQ if its real drums, some time variation/humanizer if its software, and do somethign with the left-tor-right balance on it. Durint the balance of the song there is an almost-echolike delay on instruments in that channel, too (guitar) which might benefit by a better balance.

Record deal? Does anyone get those anymore? Certainly not for 1 song, and as others have already mentioned, these days it's image as well as music needed.

Dont get me wrong, I like the song. I just think you could have
been more inventive with it. Not much movement vocaly and that should be
where all the suprise is. So stretch those chords a little. A vibrant splash
of different guitar sound here and there would help too. jmho[/b]

So to answer your question honestly. NO you are not good enough
for a record deal. They don't want to do your job for you. They don't want to
find you a singer, they don't want to rewrite your song for you, they don't
want to record it for you. They want finished product at the highest
Industry standards.
Their job is to sell you not make you. Everything else is Your job.[/b]

Most of the production is good. The vocals are a little muddy. They need some treble. The "p's hit" a time or two. The p on "prom" at 2:15. A pop filter fixes that for future reference. A few minor pitch issues. Overall pleasing. Would it get a record deal? If it was in the hands of the right guy sure. But that doesn't really mean anything. Plenty of artists are epic singers/songwriters/producers and never get a shot. Plenty of autotuned garbage makes it onto the airwaves as well. If you love your art pursue it. If mass exposure is what you crave pursue it. You have enough raw talent to justify it. I'm guessing from the subject matter that you are very young. That's definitely in your favor if seeking fame. Having said all this the song has ended. And I can't recall a hook. Maybe two songs from now or 100 songs from now you will write something infectious and irresistible. Develop your voice. It's kind of.. unspecial for me. But you are young. The world is your oyster.
