If the purpose of this site is to make $ via the premium memberships it sells than they are doing themselves a huge disservice by not having a mod clean up the forum.
Why would anyone even bother to join after checking the forum ?
Seems like the many posters are here simply to spew rhetorical BS and / or
Logging in to just take shots at people.
The mods should take out the trash.

:)

trash pickup.....i'm for it.

here in mid mo (columbia/jeff city) there used to be a pretty good music site called comomusic. it had seperate sections for music, upcoming section, equipment, and politics.

the flame wars and border skirmishes got so out of hand that the mods were spending too much time refereeing, suspending posters, and taking dumb $hit down off the boards.

so, they just said "ok....you a$$holes wanna throw down on one another.....do it in the "politics" section."

it went like that for a while and then they finally got tired of babysitting all the miscreants and closed up shop.

shame...it was a pretty good site while it lasted and i did get to meet some good players/people there.

Im all for a separate political forum

I also volunteered to mod a long time ago

Fell on deaf ears.

I can put my personal feelings aside and apply some law to these forums, but they just seem to prefer it to be open range target practice...

I agree these forums would be worlds better with some form of moderation (and not just a "report" button!) Give someone a mod job and give them the power to actually do it effectively, BMix !

There's no money in forums (or in moderating them). Look at the hundreds and hundreds of music profiles on BM, and how many people on these forums - 20? At most?

mods = censorship . . .

Next they'll be telling us what note to play . . .

Been all day making CD inserts.
Music needs help. That help will have to come in the form of determined entrepreneurs.

Entrepreneurs don't thrive in oppressive censored environments.
Want a really lame site.
Put someone in control.

Actually that's what I love about the forum. It's a free-for-all where every assertion is challenged.

I hope they never find moderators. I believe we police ourselves eventually. We'll have to put up with views we don't agree with and accept that it isn't the end of the world for someone else to be wrong or say something stupid.

That's what being in a band is like...why not the forums?

It's like being in a band, without the physical violence!

Just grow some skin and keep your chin up. This forum isn't for pussies.
Smartash questions and statements get smartash answers, that's all.
Serious and honest get the like.

We get into some really deep conversations on here about our rights and such, so I really dont want mods coming in and changing things, I mean hell guys if you dont care for a post, then why even respond?

I dont understand people being offended at something that you dont have to read or even look at. To me the fact that someone makes a comment like that just means they enjoy it in some way.

Ive learned to not bother with things, and not let them bother me. I respect everyones opinions, because we all have different points of view.

To me the solution is start your own forum somewhere and regulate the content to death.

Just my 2 cents

Fortunately my good friend Ray Jackson of LEGENDARY MEDIA
provided the art work after several attempts on my part just were not satisfactory. I insert them into a WORD document, size them to fit Jewel cases, ( two to the page of photo grade paper ) add a fine black boarder so that when I cut them out I can use a black Sharpie to cover any small variations / imperfections due to the trim process, place them back to back and heat laminate.
Important when sizing to allow for an edge on all four sides to seal the laminate.
Trim them and stick them into the jewel case.
I did forty of them yesterday and LightScribe the disks face with photos of the band and information.

Forums now open to ALL BandMix members (US, UK and CA)!
Musician Forums
General Chat
All users can post to this forum on general music topics.

Regardless of what appears to be the original intent... History shows BM... at least in part is a political rant site.
I've been coming here for several years and it comes and goes. Just look for the music posts. I will say when music and musicianship is the topic it's a great place here. I've learned a lot from the posters.
I've also learned to just cherry pick the good and ignore the rest.

To each his or her own...
