Up until the very recent past homo sapiens (yes that includes me toO) have been a species that walked, ate and drank plenty of water. We consumed a relatively small number of molecules compared to the nearly countless number of man-made molecules and compounds that exist in untold amounts in the air, water and soil all around us. Many of these molecules we are purposely ingesting; fluoride, preservatives, hormones, pharmaceuticals, etc. In our "wisdom" we haven't got a clue of the long term implications for the very survival of homo sapiens. In our quest to eradicate bacterium and viruses we are actually increasing their ability to survive and thrive as they become more resistant to our attempts to kill them. And now we are starting to change the very genetic structure of our DNA in an attempt to strengthen our ability to resist or cure diseases, all of this with absolutely no clue as to the long term effects of our survival. Somehow humans have evolved to believe science has the answers when quite factually WE DON'T REALLY KNOW WHAT THE FU*K WE ARE DOING, DON'T WE.

When we turn our face away from God and elevate man to His place . . .
This is what we get.
The warnings against self worship are written all over the Old and New Testaments.
However, it / we can be restored.
The answer to this and all other of men's questions are in the same Testaments.

Our entire society is rife with the depravity of self worship.
It is so pervasive that even men whom strive to be of good will and character are subject to it's effect
Until this changes, we will continue to suffer from our foolishness.

I wasn't sure what the point of that was, except a declaration that "humans are stupid."

Generally speaking, yeah, humans can be pretty stupid.
And we seem to be getting stupider.
Idiocracy is upon us.

As we embrace 21st century technology, we seem to be regressing to 12th century superstitions.
Not a good combination.

There are still places in the world where people are executed for allegedly practicing witchcraft.
There are still places in the world where people are stoned to death... for being raped.
The United States was founded upon principles of the enlightenment era.
This was only a generation after the Salem witch trials.
That is a pretty AMAZING accomplishment!
But, there is nothing inevitable about progress.

For 300 years, Mesopotamia was at the peak of human civilization.
In scientific, social, and economic achievement, nowhere else were humans more advanced.
Today, the same region is near the bottom in every category.
And the United States is following down the same path that was their downfall.
Science hasn't done that.
FAITH has.
Faith in the supernatural.
Faith in the absurd.
Faith in all the wrong things.

"When you believe in things that you don't understand
Then you suffer
Superstition ain't the way"
- ("Superstition") Stevie Wonder

Romans 12:2, "Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect." (NLT)

I fear you are absolutely correct. We are like the tanners of years gone by. It was said they didn't even decompose upon death. So many chemicals in them.

Haven't you noticed that our downfall seems to be accompanied by a rejection of Christ and all that's Holy? You may need to recalibrate. Or perhaps just celebrate. you got your way. Ain't it grand?

Everyone

Since evolution is a 'science' and prattles on about survial of the fitest - how is that we are descending into the 'Idiocracy?' Maybe only dummies are fit for survival? Nah...can't be that.

My downfall?
sh*t has gotten better!
I've been much much worse.

Survival of the fittest.
I don't know exactly where that phrase originates.
Evolution is survival of those which could adapt to their environments better.
In the modern age, more people are living longer.
And not necessarily the brightest folks either.
Our environment is largely man-made.
So, natural obstacles which would slow population growth aren't there.

We may be living longer, but for most, many more years of sickness, some hooked up to artificial means of perpetuation, some on respirators, some in suspended animation. Quality of life is the important thing. Artificial life is horrendous.
The natural way is best, always has been, always will be. GOD GIVES US EVRYTHING WE NEED TO LIVE A GOOD LIFE AND WE THINK WE KNOW BETTER OR CAN DO BETTER.
HAve you ever tasted truly organic food? The flavor is incredible. I bought organic appples and avocados from Natural Grocers. My God, so THAT'S What they are supposed to taste like!
Next time you're lucky enough to observe a hummingbird feeding, try and imagine something man-made that can top it for engineering and imagine the odds it came about through dumbass luck, from molecules coalescing in a primordial ooze...

I have a hat like yours. Made me feel like Billy the Kid. However, I wore it out to a shooting event in the wilds of Alabama recently and my friends dubbed me, 'the Hassidic Hillbilly.'

Ain't that a hell of a note.

It wasn't exactly meant to be funny.
He went on a rant about nature, showing his temperament there a bit.
I was just making a point of the hypocrisy of someone requiring modern medicine wanting everything to go back to nature.

I mean, yeah, nature is great.
But, this ain't the garden of Eden we're living in here.
