Life on the reservation...

Was reading the thread about heaters & electricity and it reminded me of how dang cold I was this last week.

If you've ever wondered what life on the road is like....

Just did 18 concerts over 17 days in 6 states to start "The West Coast Crazy Tour". Flew to Florida January 4th for 3 days of concerts in Tampa & Orlando, back to my van at the airport in Dallas then drove out to west Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, and Nevada non-stop. Will be in S California by the weekend. Won't get home until March 1.

Oy... can't remember ever being this tired. Fell asleep in my clothes at a chair trying to check my email last night. Can't even talk today from my voice being worn out.

All of last week was on the Navajo & Ute Reservations of NM, AZ, and CO. I really love these people, so humble, and I've got a lot of fans there now. It's kinda cool to do a foreign missions trip without leaving America, but it was -13 below zero in Window Rock AZ when I was there. Spent most of my time at the chapter house in Shiprock NM where it was hovering about 7 degrees for a few days. Did without a shower for 4 days because there was no heat in the bathroom.

But I did get to visit Mesa Verde and the Grand Canyon for a few hours along the way and now I'm off until Tuesday. Sorry Vampier, going to Vegas tomorrow and your place is too far out of the way.

The cool thing about Vegas is you can get a 5-star resort hotel room for $23 a day....with a heated bathroom!

I've been touring non-stop like this since the middle of 2005. It is fun to see the world and get treated like Elvis, but there's a price when you're traveling more than 300 days a year. People take for granted that they can pick their clothes from a closet and find their toothbrush in the same place every day.

Once you get on the merry go round, it's hard to get off. I'm exploring the possibility of transitioning to television and artist management, hopefully getting me off the road so much by next year.

My family situation has changed such that I am quite ready to do some traveling.

I believe it's in my future to do so, under what pretext and conditions has not been shown to me.
My wife's new job has her traveling. She is in Kansas as we speak.
So many changes, I know the Lord is preparing us for something.

I'm not going to fluff and say it's not a little frightening at times.
This new way of living is outside my comfort zone . . . WAY OUT.

But His will be done. My will has done not but screw my life up and leave me angry or empty inside, so much like so many people I know.

From here out, He leads, I follow . . . So help me God.

Why can't Christians accept responsibility for their own actions?
They see no hypocrisy in preaching it to everyone else.

"The devil made me do it. But, it was the will of God."
Sheesh!

Oh, there's the pot calling the kettle black.

When is the last time you confessed your sins?

When is the last time you gave up your comforts to go serve others who can't pay you back?

You really ought to stop putting so much trust in the stereotypes you've been fed.

Why?
Very simply because the simple fact is I am not in control.
I never have been, and I never will be.

My life is good when submit fully to the Almighty.

It's been awhile, yes.
I've been preoccupied with my own problems the last couple of years.
But, I've done volunteer work, helping homeless people.
I've worked in soup kitchens and donated stuff.
What have you ever done?

As for confessing my sins, to who?
I'm an atheist, dude.
What part of that didn't you understand.

I'm very honest with the people I care about.
They know the things I've done and haven't done.
No point in repeating myself to everybody.

If you were a true "A theist" you would go about your life unconcerned instead of constantly questioning and badgering those of faith.

Your soul has knowledge your head won't accept.

I've known many like that.
They make strong men of faith when they find the light of life they have been in denial of their whole lives.

In many ways advantaged over those like myself whom were taught about Christ early on.

I didn't know there were variations of atheism.
I guess an agnostic wouldn't be a "true" atheist.
I always felt like they're hedging their bets.
"I don't believe in God, but just in case I sorta do."
Hmmmm.
Maybe that's a midpoint between theism and atheism.
I dunno.
'Isms are nothing but trouble.

I'm sorry if you feel like I'm badgering you.
If I were unconcerned I wouldn't care.
And I do care.
If everyone goes around saying "2+2=5", causing problems for others wherever they go, I feel compelled to point out, "You're wrong."
If a town has laws for burning witches on the books, I feel compelled to point out that "black magic doesn't exist. Witches are just delusional hippies, a throwback to paganism."
If you were cruising on the Titanic, wouldn't you like to tell people that "no ship is 'unsinkable' and, by the way, isn't that an iceberg over there?"
