Someone described playing bars as "pimphouses".
Is that all we are?
Background music for alcoholics trying to get a piece of ass?
I prefer playing all-ages shows, without any alcohol.
But, I guess a gig's a gig...if they're paying.

I said it...and yes yo are correct... We musicians, across the board, and juke boxes too,, are sonic backdrops for the meat shoppers.

People go to bars for a wide variety of reasons, only one of which is to meet someone. People also go to dance, get a buzz, laugh and have fun or just sit and listen to the music. These days people use the internet far more to meet someone.

Sat afternoon my wife and I went to Beale Street, we were looking for a picture for our great room. Found one and the bidding war started, so we hit up a couple of clubs and had a great time. We got down there around 4pm, went to one place and watched a couple of guys doing old authentic acoustic blues and telling storys, then went to BB Kings and saw this young guy playing the blues, a kid named Will Tucker, he went to high school with my son, and hes got the chops, hope he goes far. Then we went to a piano bar and had this gal singing Etta James, then back to another club and a rock band was in there. They were playing a pretty good version of Sympathy for The Devil, my wife and I were doing the woo-woos. She said Bubba get up there and sing the woo-woos, so I hopped up and did the woo-woos for the second half of the song. Stayed until they got done, then headed over and got the picture, the dude finally came down.
We had a blast, dancing, and cutting up, even got our pcture taken and I got her a rose. But we were just there to pass time, waiting on the guy to take my offer on the picture.
Ive got to get down there more often, cause they have live music on the weekends all day long, instead of having to get out at 9-10 to see a band, we left at around 11 and were home by one.
