Been thinkin..
We're all in this together, right?
I want to be a good boy, a rule-following, cog in the wheel, productive member of society. All any of us ask in return is the basic freedoms as humans, and our ability to pursue happiness. Why is it so hard? Why can't people find work and make enough to provide for their most basic needs?
I'd happily be a part of any system that seeks not to control me, or my being. I do my part, they do theirs. So long as I could live my life.
Then I realize.. that's communism, socialism, marxism, and a few other things. Why don't I like capitalism? Ahh, I think I found it- Every dollar goes somewhere. When one person has 5 more, that means another person has 5 less. It is a dog-eat-dog society. I don't think anyone even argues that anymore.
We wonder why as a society we are breaking down.. and it seems so simple- we're pitted against each other from day 1. We aren't encouraged to help when needed; we're encouraged to be content with what we have, even when it's not enough, usually by those who have too much or the ones who morally support them and the system. We are taught to take, be greedy, be selfish. Be moral in everything, except when it comes to money and property. Then you are not american if you apply morals to money.. you are a commie/marxist.
Our society is sick, demented. I feel that these mass shootings are nothing more than echos of that.
We're all part of this society. Can't we find a way to make it work together and stop the division?
