This is completely satire, not meant to be taken seriously.

This thought just popped in my head while listening to the scores...

If bands were like the NFL teams.

There could be a draft, all the new players in the scene could be picked
Bands that suck the most get to pick first
Battle of the bands becomes a way of life
"superstars" get paid obscenely well
getting ones self onto the injured roster would require skill and imagination
Every band gets a head coach (manager)
Taxpayers have to pay to build our hometown venue
ESPN OCHO would have live coverage and commentary
Armchair wannabe's can call into talk radio and complain about how poorly the guitarist has been playing those licks and solos, or how the singer lost his swagger and stays in the pocket too long

what else?

if ya stink it up ya get benched.

continue to stink it up...you're put on waivers.

you will be expected to suck it up and play hurt.

if you really injure yourself badly while playing hurt...everyone will second guess the decision to have let you stay in.
