hmm not true- PA is the #2 retirement state in the country. Many retire here because of the benefits, including the PA lottery donating BILLIONS per year to senior services.

Yesterday a Canadian friend of mine, who is black, told me of his opinion of the US.
He said our media is our worst enemy. That he had expected a lot of racism and a lot of shooting, conflict etc from watching American TV.
Found very little of that when he lived up North (NY) and pretty much none at all down in GA.
He also told me (no offense anyone) that he far preferred the South. People are nicer, its cleaner, not so hectic, girls are wonderful. He felt that NY was in a big hurry to nowhere.
It was funny, we were talking outside so he could have a smoke, "Listen" he said. To what I wondered..."You hear any shooting? I don't. Yet from your news shows I expected to hear random machine gun fire periodically and see bodies in the streets."

He must have never visited Detroit.
We could maybe show him some bodies and gunfire if he really wants it.

The south is better.
The people in the north make it bad.

The ones that retire and stay up North are the ones that hate the south cough cough Jimmy! After all we are just a bunch of toothless, rebel flag waving, trailer trash sub human species!

Lots of old people head south because as you get old, you get colder. It's a blood pressure thing.

I've lived in both. There's some stark differences, but both have good and bad sides. Most of the stereotypes about both have some truth in them.
I could expand, but don't have the time right now, maybe later.
