The defense of the our country is the the first charge of our government.
Granted we have gotten involved in so many things we shouldn't have. (I deliberately avoided the use of some extreme words.)
It may seem that you are poking fun at one little aspect, but unfortunately you are also poking fun at what is really the truth.
We have a government that is violating the very decency of responsibility.
We have a government filled with nothing but self serving, ruthless people that are only concerned with saving their own power. This in many cases goes right down to the states, and counties, to the local town boards.

Either we vote properly,, or die.

How about giving the government 100% of your hard-earned money for "defense"?
I mean, really?
How much is enough, ALL OF IT?
WHO is such a huge threat to us?
Terrorists?
They allegedly got past this defense system and attacked major targets of defense and the economy with a few box cutters.
Are you gonna search EVERYONE for box cutters, now?
The Soviet Union was the only major threat to us and now they are gone.
The ones left are the ones THAT WE ARM FIRST.
It seems to me if we stopped selling to those a s s h o l e s there'd be less need for such a huge military.

We the people can defend the country. (Unless the govt swine steal our guns ) A very small standing military with a couple hundred nukes would do it.

This is a disconnect I often encounter with conservatives. I mean really - we all know that our govt is corrupt pack of weasley murderous swine. Yet many still want them to weild the most powerful military in the world.

huh? it's like being mugged by a guy with a .25 auto - you tell him, 'whoa, dude - here take my .357!'

Our biggest enemy is in DC. If we minded our own business overseas we'd have no foriegn enemies. And there are two rather large bodies of water in between us and most other nations.

I know or hope that none of us were dumb enough to believe that Bush bullshite about how they "hate us for our freedom." Right...they hate us because we are there...

I'm not mad at foriegners. BUt I'm supposed to support a military that just gave THIRTY THOUSAND drones to local police to help defend my freedom. They are pissing on our legs and telling us it's raining.

I agree with all that slacker- really I do.

But I don't think your guns are going to do much more than scratch the paint on their tanks.
