It's okay.
I'm not a big fan of what I call "elevator jazz."
Reallllly mellow stuff.
Puts me to sleep.

I drank a lot of margaritas at happy hour in a local Haunt in houston, with a session drummer for George Benson. (I didn't believe him, till he showed up to work one day with a portrait album ... and there he was, sticks ijn hand, and Benson hamming it in front of the camera... Numerous other photos which included Tina Turner, etc. But the real evidence was his ability to play. Ronnie Winn stood just over 4 & 1/2 feet tall...He looked like a black cupie doll (Rhyme intended and its all true) . He had a stutter in his speech. I saw him float his sticks over a massive kit at a jazz fest in Memorial park... He played with his eyes closed, and was top of his game... like it was nothing.

He told me once, about George Benson, that he couldn't get enough sleep on that tour and it was hard to stay awake sometimes... Just saying,...But of Course, George Benson was top of his game too...

I asked Ronnie why he left the music biz... Said he wanted his family more than anything else.. .WHen I met the family, I could understand why. They were good people and they took care of him.

He and I used to get brain-freeze over those damn frozen margaritas (3:1 for happy hour every night after work.)

Those were extraordinary days for me.
