Obama should have held the raise up until the fiscal cliff issue was fixed.

If barak wanted to at least look like a leader, he could pull a Steve Jobs. Take no salary for the next year, or the rest of his term

This has nothing to do with Obama. It has everything to do with congress. They are seriously, the most useless people on earth, and they dont know how to get anything else done aside from giving themselves a raise. They have made America a laughing stock...

I wondered if anyone would say something besides bash Obama.
Obama has done some shady sh*t in his administration.
But, it pales in comparison to the what the Republicans have, and continue, to do.
Didn't they get the memo that they lost?
That no one likes them anymore?
They've alienated everybody.
Well, except the dead-enders.
The "Baghdad Bobs" of the GOP.

Its not republicans... Its Republicans AND Democrats. There is enough bullshit from both sides of the aisle...which has me wondering why we think there is bi-partisan division. Seems to me they are united together on a plan to butt fuk Americans

PaperD, I could not have said it better than your two posts here so far. I am independently registered so I can attempt to choose the lesser of two evils. I didn't vote for Obama, and chose Ramni as the lesser. My choice was Santorum. He had the direction we needed. He was too young for mature confidences. Christian faith beholding. People are afraid to do what is right. His values were what made this country great. Obama doesn't want the fiscal cliff to be averted. It will be revenue from our pockets he can do his entitlement shopping list with.

This is just one symptom of a systemic problem. Congress needs to go back to being a part-time job at $40k/yr with only the health and retirement benefits currently available to every american. Oh... wait.

Congress should try to live on minimum wage, without benefits, like many of their constituents do.
That would probably be a pretty good idea.
What if congress had to live on what their constituents do?
It would give them some incentive to actually work in THEIR interest instead of the lobbyists.

Hey, he's bellowing about fiscal cliffs. Lead by example.
He doesn't pay for housing, food, or transport - so symbolically he could give back his salary

I had to take my mg truck and pick up a general once - at a bush air field.
We took him back to our battle camp and it was lunch time.

The general very properly took his place with our battalion commander at the END of the line for food. It's called leadership.

I haven't seen much of that in this country. I'm begining to fear we won't pull out of this slide.
