Happy New Year. This is a first.
Posted: Sat Dec 29, 2012 11:39 pmI put a new boiler in for a single mom. Her ex has done what he could, but he can't seem to hold a steady job. She is raising two boys and they seem OK. She hasn't even covered the parts cost and my profit was nothing.
She ran the old boiler to the point where there was nothing left to do.
When I did the install the last thing I came to realize is that the thermostat for the main zone heating DID NOT WORK. She had been living in a cold house for a long time, coping in ways I can't spend that much time to detail.
Any way, she has a brand new boiler that I know is twice as efficient as what she had there. Everything works, and works well. What a luxury!
Now this is just human nature I guess, and perception. She went through the same amount of oil as last year, when she had a system that didn't work.
Now she has a system that works, and she doesn't understand that is the reason she is still burning oil. She actually has heat.
I have to laugh because this is just one little story about what America is going through right now. I'm on the front line and I see it everyday.
It's going to get MUCH worse. Happy New Year America.
