I did notice that although the security team was ready to toss the guy, Josh didn't have the guy thrown out..

I can't say I would have been as accepting..

I don't remember talking about the Butthole Surfers carrying a gun.
But, they do.
At least they keep a shotgun nearby, I know that.
They usually fire it at their shows.
In the past, they had a pet pitbull which guarded their gear in the van.
I dunno if it was ever used to deal with stalkers or not.

As for his sound...He isn't doing anything musically that's special. I dont see what the appeal is.

The appeal is in some of their older and odder music..

THEY are odd ducks because they have material that is different and yet similar.

He's got some pop type tunes for his genre. (ecch)
"Little Sister" is a good example.
The crowd likes it, but it doesn't appeal to me.

And then he's got some real odd material that fires me up on all cylinders.
"Regular John", "You can't quit me baby", "how to handle a rope" are a few of the better ones off of a reissue album that IS basically their target sound.

And then they have all this other whacked out crap that is spectacular.
"Infinity and Misfit Love" are 2 really good examples. Love that psychedelic pedal steel !!!

I'm sure I missed more than a few but it's ok..lol

Well I went back and checked out 'Nobody to Love". He's trying to fuse metal with clever minor * half step bridges and choruses... I think that he's an experimenter with guitar sound texture... Its okay, and I'll give him a pass for that...But I still think he's an ass-hole. And seriously... For a desert boy, he should know better than to theaten people like that..
