My mother, whom passed out and fell during the night. Is being hospitalized this morning, for fractures of both tibia & fibula above her right ankle. Please take a moment to pray for Gwen Heil, her husband, family, and those in the medical profession whom will be charged with her care.

Yes, I prayed for her speedy recovery. I do believe that prayer has a higher power now in these times because it separates those that do from those that don't. I'm confident her recovery will come as a revelation to all our prayers.

Sorry to hear that, of course you have support and prayers from every one.
Be careful of clotting. If Gwen (your mother) is as old as me I suspect it will not be a short term injury. Broken bones are serious in older folks.

I see that every one here is a strange community,,, as much as we fight and bitch, when the real stuff comes around,,, I tend to see a lot of love.

Jimmy, falls for older people are really nasty. I'm not picking on you or telling you anything you don't know. Do your self a favor and get her some alarm system, remove as many obstacles you can,to keep her safe, and tell her you love her the next time you see her.

I take this very seriously with my older customers, sometimes they just don't realize how easy it is to get hurt by something stupid.

Both my parents have suffered very bad falls in the past few years. Of course I'll pray for her George. We're all pulling for a speedy recovery.

Mother's surgical procedure went well considering the fragility of her bones and the severity of her fractures.
The Surgeon was not totally pleased with the outcome due to the fragmentation, but feels that full calcification is still in the realm of probable.

She was back into her room, alert and oriented post operative.
My father, I could not run off with a stick, so he will be staying with her tonight. She will begin her anti coagulation therapy tomorrow directed by the hospitalist, and her therapy.
