PS: The Bushmaster ACR is a naaasty rifle, bullpup design if I don't miss my guess. You need a class 3 to legally own such a weapon
(I'm not 100% which permit for NJ).

If he had a 50mm scope he could have really done some "big game hunting" and "ran up the score".

I bet SWAT teams all over are sweating mercury over seeing high tech rifles in the hands of civilians. I don't even know what the firefighters think other than "just let it burn"/"clear the area".

The ACR ( advanced Combat Rifle ) has some nice refinements but really is no more advanced or lethal than the bolt guns built 100 years ago.

And no . . . it's not a bullpup. Though the folding stock does make it appear as such at initial inspection.

The chamber is forward of the fire-control mechanism.
A true "bullpup" is configured with the FCM ahead of the Chamber.

The .223 is my rifle caliber of choice. If that convict used one, that is still not a reason to ban "assault rifles". He had killed his grandmother and did time for doing so. How was it he was able to get a .223 in his hands? I don't have any assault weapons, nor do I feel I need one. A lever action .223 is sporting enough but, if the government is bent on taking away more and more constitutional rights, I may elect getting a full auto. Not likely though.
