Allergies & Pedalboard

Man, I am really miserable without my allergy shots!
I couldn't afford to keep them up.
I've tried Allegra, Sudafed, AND Nasonex today.
It's barely making a difference.

I was rearranging my pedalboard, trying to shoehorn my Electro-Harmonix H.O.G. onto the board.
I finally got it to fit.
But, I may need another board just for fuzz & distortion pedals!

It sounds pretty wicked.
I use it on both guitar and bass.
But, I had to stop.
Too much sneezing and runny nose.

I'm really screwed if I'm like this before a gig.

Ever have to tell yourself "The show must go on..." with a broken arm or the flu or anything?

I feel for you. I came down with horrific allergies recently. My ears are still full of crap, dizzy all the time. I assume you don't have health insurance, or if you do it doesn't cover allergy injections. I would be completely screwed without my injections, or worse.

Just plain Medicare.
It doesn't cover a LOT of things.
I need to ask them about their savings programs, to see if I'm eligible.
It wouldn't hurt if we could get back on food stamps again, either.

We've had to overdraft our bank account almost EVERY MONTH this past year!
We're trying hard to break the cycle and start 2013 on better footing.

We owe money all over the place and I want to get everybody paid back as soon as I can.

Sounds a lot like me, sad what an endless recession can do to one's finances.

I don't know what your allergies are Mike but I'm guessing sensitivity to dust is really complicating things.
In fact I've never had allergies, but this past year all of a sudden if there's any dust in the air at all, my nose is off to the races. Can't stop sneezing and my eyes water and itch.

Can't get away from the shite cuz there's not really a dust season. It's everywhere.

No government cheese.
I wouldn't eat it anyway.
I hate cheese.

The local food banks used to be pretty good about helping with some groceries if we needed it.
Even if the food was spoiled half the time.
Green mold pie & bread is no good.
But, the economy has them swamped.
They've changed their policies.
No food stamps, no food for you!

I think Les Claypool recorded a song or two with Government Mule.
Not bad.

When I had the allergy test done, the one where they cover your arms with needles, I lit up on EVERYTHING.
It looked like I had the mumps or something.
So, the slightest thing can set my allergies off.
We have quite a lot of dust & mold around here.
We found black mold in the bathroom recently.

We've all been sick the past week, starting with the cats having diarrhea then giving it to us.

Cats don't normally bother me, unless they've been outside in the weeds or something.
They track all that crap back in their fur.
So, we never let them outside.

Sorry to hear your allergies are at it again Mike I hope you get better soon! I am getting ready to make another pedal board just for amp channel selectors and a ABY switcher that I just ordered from Zzsounds. I'll be using 2 amps on stage. I ordered the Radial Engineering Bigshot. I'll have 2 boards one for effects and one for amp switches!

I share your pain. I'm still recovering from a bug that triggered allergeries, then ashtma etc ad nauseum. i was near despair with it last week and the stupid drugs don't help much. (exeption is muscinex for runny nose)

Apparently, it is now ALWAYS allergy season.

A dryer climate helps me but that is about all. So today it rains and storms which makes it much worse for me. how embarrassing is it to have to close my office door and use a nebulizer? Can't promise to sing in a band because I'm never sure I'll be able to - guess you know about that too.

I'm thinking seriously of wearing a damn mask over my face.

I'm sorry you're dealing with this. It sucks utterly. You too Bob.
