You might be a redneck if...

I was watching some Jeff Dunham videos on YouTube, recently.
And it occurred to me that this guy is pandering to the FOX NEWS crowd.
His puppet schtick is patently racist, almost all of it.
Then he had one puppet, a redneck idiot.
Just every cliche' stereotype dumb redneck joke imaginable being done there.
The audience is totally loving it.
And this seems to be a commonality in stand-up comedy aimed at Southerners, dumb redneck jokes.
Jeff Foxworthy's "You might be a redneck..." routine comes to mind.
Hell, even Jerry Clower and Ray Stevens do it.
It just seems a little strange that the audience would get a kick out of being made fun of CONSTANTLY by these people.
Then, they get offended when people assume Southerners are all dumb rednecks.
Does this make any sense?

Most northerners traditionally look down on southerners. I guess the difference is that Jeff Dunham or Foxworthy kisses his audience before he f*cks 'em. Us southerners prefer that as opposed to getting banged on a pool table (i.e. Bill Maher who is also patently racist...Its just that his brand is the "cool" brand that everybody's drinking right now.)
I'd say both north and south pander to some media marketer...

You should check out a DVD,
The Confederate States of America.
It shows what America would look like in an alternate reality where the Confederacy won.
It's funny, but intellectually interesting too.
They show stand-up comedians making "dumb Yankee jokes".
It's like a mirror-universe Jeff Foxworthy.

Speaking of movies , have you watched "Idiocracy"? Its about the future fate of America and the world as a result of bad education, corruption, etc) I think that movie ain't too far off from being the truth...

Idiocracy is a favorite of ours.
I don't think it's the future.
We're
already there!

Jimmy you have to be a redneck to understand Jeff, he makes perfect sense to me.
I saw where Larry the Cable Guy is from up north, where did he get that accent.
But this is all just like taste in music, to each his own.

Nah.
Lewis Black is good.
No one else does the "psychotically angry Jew" thing like him.
He's a bit like George Carlin on way too much coffee.

No John I meant the puppet guy not Foxworthy. Although I'm not a big fan of his either. Or that Ron guy that drinks in his act. In fact I can't think of many comedians who I like or that are funny anymore.

Most of my favorite comedians are dead, just like most of my favorite rock musicians.

Lewis Black is bitter old man full of hate and plays it off as comedy.
The puppets suck
Jeff Foxworthy is getting a cheap laugh at someone else's expense.
Ron White at least has some dignity !!!!

You know its funny Jimmy, I don't see myself as a redneck! Some very dear friends have told me otherwise! Okay damn it I admit it I'm a REDNECK!

The reason I don't see myself that way is because there is a HELL of a lot worse down here in the lonestar state! You know what my knickname in high school was?........
HIPPIE! LMFAO!
