Personally, I think the Gibson Explorer (2 of them in this list) are ugly.

I played a Alembic guitar once. It was a Sky Lark.
Man that thing was freaking sweet.
Alembics are known for holding their value well.
Maybe in my next life ..... or the one after .....

I'll probably never have a really expensive guitar.
But, I've got ideas for some custom ones I'd like to try getting built... and that's even better.

Back when I had a TV I saw a '56 Strat with a small white Fender Amp valued at 75K. Seemed like a lot - I've actually played that model and yeah they are darn sweet but I don't know about THAT sweet.

the link does not work for me.. neither IE8 or Firefox 17.0 pulls the page up..
is there anyway somebody could put the list of guitars mentioned in the article on this thread?
