Egypt is a mess, and the people want nothing more than a democratic process. This time, they got a leader who masqueraded as such, then tried to seize power and become a dictator. It wouldn't be so bad if we hadn't installed so many dictators in the region over the last 70 years ... leaving the ideal and precedent to fester.

We need to take a hands-off approach and let this work itself out. We've got the same problems here, just in much less tolerated environment. And the people here are far more sheepish and subdued - so much that most will not even stand up for their own basic rights.

I stand behind the Egyptian people. I also stand behind the American people, if only they would stand up for themselves.
