Is there a melodic progression somewhere in this? Is it buried in the noise? Is the melodic progression at a frequency that only dogs can hear? Either that or I'm not perceptive enough to understand the music in this.

This isnt About melody...Its about expressing a state/existence through sound, which is planned , in consort. Its actually pretty fkn cool...These guys put some thought into it. I have seen about 5 of their videos and each one is a different tact on the same message.
This is better than the Luddites could ever have done. Ands nobody walks away bleeding , and nobody's machines get stopped.

Hard not to make a negative comment about that, so let's just say that my feelings on the video are negative.

Whats to get negative about... They are doing on stage what many Monks do in meditation for thousands of years... They simply captured and focused on a sound phenonmon, associated with a visual/mechanical display of the operating world. Nothing about it is negative...They do this without crapping on the audiences.

I just don't see the artistic merit in it. I found the audio to be crass and off-putting. But it's more than that, it's like standing next to a busy construction site.. it's just noisy and there's nothing artistic about it. I can watch the guy hammering and at the same time I can imagine bizarre imagery that is 1 and 2 degrees of separation from the construction itself.. that doesn't make it art- that makes it everyday noise, with added interpreted visual noise. To me, that's not really art.

I don't understand your reference to monks. I do get chanting and other activities, and I would call it a stretch to liken this to that.

I struggle with the correct words to truly describe my dislike, so I guess I will just have to leave it with what I already typed, although I really don't think that hit the target in explaining why I don't like it.

LOL, well I like making funny sounds sometimes with my guitar, but not to this extreme. I cant make up my mind to take it seriously, or just humor.

I guess in the end its not my cup of tea.

On GG ALLEN I saw him once, one of the most gross shows Ive ever seen, dont even know why I went, but a friend said you gotta check this out.

GWAR is a comic book compared to Allen or how ever you spell his name, lets just say, when he stuck the mic up his ass the place emptyed and everyone ran into the streets.

Hes dead isnt he?
