Month old article? Nice.
First of all it's not a tax increase, it's just that rates are returning to levels before Bush. Second, the rates have been low for over a decade and the rich did not create one job because of them. So Obama correctly reasons why give them a break? Third, I am prepared for my taxes to go up if the Republicans stand firm on this. But you will hear such a howling that the Republicans won't get back in power for a decade. So look for a compromise.

We already "saw" the results in the election of Obama. The majority of voters in this country don't want conservative ideology at this time. What the Republicans are going to have to do IS compromise, or they WILL be voted out of office. A moderate raise in taxes for the rich WILL come, you can bet on it. It will become very difficult, if not impossible for American companies to relocate overseas, you can bet on that as well. Also, America will become the largest oil producing country on planet Earth, WILL lead the world in wind and solar technology, and most likely become energy independent within 15 years, you can bet on it. Good things are coming our way within the next 10 years, so it would behoove the conservatives NOT to throw any roadblocks in the way, or quite likely the Republican party will end up in the dustbin of history.

We can only hope.
I'd like to see a third party take up the progressive mantle and let the Dems be the opposition party of corporatism that they are.
