Don't bother trying to give conservatives facts, it just confuses them.

"Red states generally receive more federal spending than they pay in taxes. In 2005, Alaska received $1.84 in spending for every $1 paid in taxes). Other red states fared just as well, for instance: North Dakota ($1.68 ), Alabama ($1.66), Kentucky ($1.51), Oklahoma ($1.36). Blue states tend to pay more in taxes than they receive in spending, for instance: Connecticut (received $0.69 for every $1 in taxes paid), Illinois ($0.75), California ($0.78 ), New York ($0.79). In 2012, the New York Times published an eye-opening study revealing that Americans in conservative parts of the country — including the voting bases of the most anti-government Tea Party candidates — use more government benefits (including Medicare and Social Security and unemployment insurance) than more liberal parts of the nation
Blue state taxes are literally subsidizing red state schools and roads while red states complain about taxes and government."

Dizziz your bm handle is appropriate you are officially "more ignernt than the other dumbphuk known as the jimster"! Kudo's DUMBASS! Actually you are the poster child as to why OBUMMER won!
I'm ignorant? That's fine, that's okay. I posted facts. All you can do is call me ignorant. Maybe I'm ignorant. My facts are cold. How about responding to my facts, if you can? I'll be making popcorn, this should be amusing.

You didn't read, did you?
RED states receive MORE benefits than they PAID for. BLUE states PAY FOR more benefits than they RECEIVE.

What is important is the perception that people have of people who are receiving aid. While there may be a percentage of people who are ripping off the system, and who knows what that percentage really is, what's disturbing to me is the amount of prejudging. My son, for example, looks perfectly normal to the uninitiated. He's receiving thousands of dollars of aid per month. He looks like somebody who could rip your head off, but he's actually quite helpless. The federal government has made great strides in recent years to reduce the amount of abuse in the welfare system, so much so that there's a small fraction (way under 10%) now abusing the system. The vast majority who receive food stamps need them to SURVIVE, literally. I'm self-employed. My gross sales in 2011 was HALF what it was in 2010. I haven't applied for food stamps, but I'm going to look into it, and if I qualify I'll be grateful to have them. I wouldn't be embarassed and I'm happy that federal aid is available to those that need it, so I simply say STOP prejudging, don't begrudge anybody. You don't know their circumstances in life. And for crying out loud this red state/blue state talk is inane, meaningless, nonsense. It doesn't prove a damn thing. We're all in this together and need to work out a pragmatic way to KEEP the safety net for people who really need it.
