Maybe they will just upgrade from selling pot to selling meth, or go find a real job.

This is a good thing. Taxes from sales will help the state immensely.

upon further consideration...maybe we wouldn't be arguing over the set list but instead debating what kinds of snackery we'll need on hand when we get the inevitable ensuing "munchies'.

Massachusetts question #3 - medical pot - passed. 4 years ago, possession of less than an ounce was made a misdemeanor. How much tax money is still wasted (haha) by law enforcement and the courts on possesion cases in other states?

All I know is that here in PA, it seems that everyone wants it legalized, but our state reps refuse to talk about it. We still have some of the most draconian pot laws in the country. One GRAM of weed can get you 1 year in jail and lost license for 3-5 years, whether you are in a car or not, and that's for a first offense.

Everyone here hates it but none of our state reps will listen to us. Elections don't matter when all of your choices still won't listen to you. Not much different than federal elections I guess.

it's worth mentioning that most of the state has also turned over the prison systems to for-profit companies, who have been caught on several occasions bribing judges (to hand down max sentences, overlook evidence of innocence) and officials on various levels top to bottom.

I think there was something in the legislation that would also define a limit for THC in the blood stream while driving, similar to laws regarding alcohol and driving.

Since thc stays in your body much longer than does alcohol, if you smoke very often you may have to ride the bus, or risk getting DUI problems.

The impairment of one's driving abilities is much more severe with alcohol compared to thc, but such subtle distinctions can be easily overlooked by lawmakers, many of whom are alcoholics.

1 year for 1 Gram? The legal system is so wacked it's ridiculous.
California has struck down legalizing it a few times which is odd but now that California has a democratic super majority, I'm sure things will change in the near future.
