I saw on tonight's national news people having to hike many blocks, to a I think they said, train station in N.Y.C. to get their batteries charged to operate their cell phones.. heard the electricity is down pretty severely.. on a sidenote, my mom's neighbor friends Gary has headed to Connecticut from Bolivar, Mo. to help get the downed trees cleared.. he was a supervisor at PoorBoy Tree Service, a tree surgeon outfit, but he's retired but still wanted to go help..that's a long way to travel to help

Here's a link to some pics. It doesn't look worse than the storms we had here a couple years ago. Some tree damage but none of the flooding that other folks had. A bit tree landed on my daughters house and killed the bedroom, a living room, and a front porch. Fortunately it didn't land on her, but it sure took a bit to get things rebuilt.

Same for Les... (LA Long)
We were to meet on Monday so I could give him back his Zoom G2.
We rescheduled for 5 NOV 2012 @ 1pm in Somerville.
As the blow hard storm was winding down, I sent him an email to ascertain his position and get a sitrep.
So far nothing. I sent him another email this am warning of impending phone call(s) if no reply.
He's in Piscataway, NJ if I remember correctly.
I was north of my regular position last night and although we have power it appears that most everything north of our AO is now snafu, especially the power.
I checked the net from damage reports to the area and it seems if damage was light >? (not sure if I believe it)
Anyone from that area got any news?

He's on the roof of his house screaming about FEMA and the government stealing from him so no one will rescue him.

Les is ok, I just talked to him a little bit ago.
No power until the 9th.. yikes.
Forget FEMA, my aunt works for FEMA.
(She's got some really ugly stories about how stupid they really are.)

Dane, I know I am not one of your favorite people. I have said some things to you in the past I regret saying and I think I have been wrong about you! Our politics are worlds apart. I believe you to be a GOOD man and I just wanted to tell you that! Also I want to tell you "be you man" and I consider you a friend and B.M. buddy!
