I'm still in need of a band name for a band that plays classic rock. Does anyone have any suggestions?

hmmmm you can always chose a name of a song and make it a band name. it's not going to be that original, but it works i guess!

Have you asked the other members in your band for a name? I know my trio went with something generic called "TimeLine" so we could get the lounge and roll gigs. We also do the bar band thing, so we might go with another name just for that setting...
I guess you have to look at how you want to market yourself. If you guys are hell bent serious, then a name that is very image driven would be the way to go...like Scrap Iron Gods. If your band has a lighter side personality, then you can go with something kinda cheezy... The Barn Stormers...could use a ww1 plane for background, image etc.
I know the last bar band I was in we called ourselves"the Petting Zoo" and had plenty of Spinal Tap moments on how our name went over with some of the people and their own take on the name. My friend who I started the band with later on hated the name...but we were so established with that name that we had to stay with it.
So, think hard about what you want to name your band because people will identify with you with that name and if you keep changing it, they wont be able to follow you in the paper or any entertainment guide paper to where your playing out next. Oh, and do think about a logo of sorts.

there's tons of classic rock bands around here.

The problem is that I forget most of their names, because they are generic and forgettable. Some bands I know are: Rhythm & Groove band, Groove Train, Pistol Whip'd, etc.. and so many I can't remember.

The common denominator is that they all use common words in the name. Like I said- forgettable.

A few of the more popular bands are:

Mama kin (not a common name, although tributes aerosmith)
Deja Vu (notice the play on words)
Sickboy (a play off Alice In Chains 'Sickman'?)
Episode 4 (my band.. not sure how good a name it is, but it's staying)

With naming a band, make it something that isn't common, but catchy. Plays on words usually work out well.
