Here I am once again breaking my promise not to bring up political issues, but there's an item that hasn't been explained in these Presidential debates that I'm completely mystified, both for Romney not bringing it up, or Obama defending his actions. I'm talking about the nearly trillion dollar Stimulus package. Why on Earth is Romney ignoring it in his political discourse and Obama not defending it. A trillion damned dollars. Where did the money go? How many jobs were created? Which states got how much money? If it was a waste of money why doesn't Romney talk about it? If it did the country some good why doesn't Obama defend it? I don't get it.
Also neither party is saying much about Obamacare except "repeal" or "keep" it. I want to know the exact reason to repeal or exact reason to keep it. Platitudes doesn't cut it with me. Give me DATA, charts, accounting sheets, something I can grasp facts with. I'm not an idiot and neither are most Americans. This entire debate cycle has been carried on with a "dumbed down" audience in mind. We're not stupid. Dems and Repubs are pathetic, out of touch parties. Neither has the real interests of the American people in mind. I'm fed up.

Not that I have followed it much, but I seem to recall Romney bringing the stimulus up during his campaign, quite negatively. Well he should.

Were it not for John Roberts Obamacare would have been struck down as unconstitutional by SCOTUS. That is the only necessary reason Americans need - the Federal government cannot force Americans to buy something. By Roberts explaining the individual mandate as a tax, the law stands. Now, all Americans must have health insurance whether they want it or not, and in fact, SCOTUS has given federal government politicians license to tax Americans for anything it chooses. The precedent is now set. It all depends on the bend and whim of Congressional politicians in any given cycle.

There is no mystery here. The law needs to be repealed, and probably will be if Romney is elected. Of course, flip-flopper that he is, who knows what will happen and what his excuses will be.

Ron Paul laid out the facts of the stimulus repeatedly in his campaign, and is still doing so.

My parents went on Medicare when they hit 65, my dad thought it would actually save them money, he told me the other day that he is paying twice as much for Medicare as he was for his own policy.

Obamacare will be the same, anything the government takes over, over time it becomes more and more expensive, except now, if you dont buy it, then you owe a tax.

My father was reading up on Obamacare, and in there somewhere, at his age if he had to have some serious surgery, a committee will have to meet before it can be performed. WTF, what if he needs something immediately! Say on a friday night? When do you think they will have a meeting to determine if he should have the surgery?

I just dont think the governement should have thier hands in health care.

If those 2000 pages of rules, regulations, mandates, new taxes, and government oversight are not stopped America will begin a roll down hill that will not be stopped. When the medical community, regardless of political affiliation, says this law will be the end of American healthcare as we know it, one should believe it. Like all other businesses the medical business runs for a profit. Obamacare will destroy that. Take away profit, you take away incentives for people to go to school and pay off heavy loans, as well as huge insurance premiums to practice medicine nowadays; a thank you to the insurance industry for that.

Politicians destroy whatever they touch. Socialist, Marxist, take from those citizens who have to give it to these citizens who don't politicians destroy things more quickly.

Obamacare will ruin medicine in America and turn it into a nightmare worse than the worst emergency room today. It will gradually become just like any other socialized medical program which runs on excess taxes of the producers within any nation to fund things. It opens doors to even more government control by rogue politicians.

Thanks for enlightenment, but the enlightening process should be done CLEARLY by those running for office, and they have not. In today's world of politics dumbing down is the key to winning elections. It stinks and it continuously gives us people who don't represent anybody but themselves. We need a viable third political party to put the Dems and Repubs into the trashbin of history.

Bob, I agree. Of course, Obama promised ALL bills would be placed online for public inspection before they came to a vote, and people would also be able to see all discussion of them. Obamacare was passed clandestinely (even skirting rules according to some Congressional commentary), and like Madame Pelosi said, We have to pass the bill so we can see what's in it."

Intelligence like that should deny people the right to vote, let alone serve in Congress.

Sure, third, fourth, fifth party. There are what, well over a dozen now. The current two will never be brought back to Constitutional limitations. They also will work like demons to make sure no other parties gain a place in the system as it exists today. So, without enormous public interest and support, the status quo will continue. It may even result in the loss of the Republic if Romney does nothing to lead in the next four years. We should fully expect more war, more debt, extinguishing of the dollar, and more loss of freedom in the name of "safety."

....Good Thread Fisherman Bob. Excellent answers from everyone. There should most definately be no surprise here. The Death Panels will meet , eventually and "consider" the files of the ill and dying, deciding if an expenditure is justified. After all these are hard times and even though it has not been "debated" the rising debt will be what dictates such and serves as an excellent excuse to deny, deny, deny. The Great Culling is just getting started and just "Ramping" up.

I have always liked those NCIS propaganda series ... Slacker is correct, they can be very entertaining which translates in some cases as stress relief.

The dinosaurs have begun to bump and stumble, some have even fallen and "can not get up". The "scientists" have suggested smaller is better ... smaller bodies, brains, appetites and life spans. The AntiHumans are now playing Gods and Apocalypse ... look at it as "Human Monopoly" and with the toss of a die ... thousands shall.

Do you enjoy watching fixed and rigged "competitions? Do you play "Dress Up" with your very own Jersey and face paint ? How active do you become ? They feel no need to answer to anyone, save for re-elction time, when they will say anything to get re-elected.

I heard today that there is a video of "Fearless Leader" WATCHING the feed from a drone as the attack that he was unaware of was taking place. There are also emails that have been procured from the day before telling the president who was planning the attack, when the attack was to take place and other info. Now if the media would have informed the public of what they really knew, I'm sure that the debate would have taken a different more exciting direction. What do you know, radio news is mentioning all this. Looks like Reuters is not alone on this one.

High crimes and misdemeanors. How many can this guy get away with before someone in Washington gets some courage.

I really hope this fraud (felon) is impeached, even if it is only his last couple of months. The nation needs to see some guts for once, that these elected civil servants are more than game players for votes.
