"pu**y Riot band members sent to remote prison camps
Maria Alyokhina and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova to serve sentences in Russia's 'harshest prisons' in Perm and Mordovia"
edit - (have no idea why "pu**y" is not appearing correctly)

"Alyokhina and Tolokonnikova were convicted of hooliganism motivated by religious hatred for performing an anti-Putin "punk anthem" in a Moscow cathedral in February. They argued that their conviction was part of a growing crackdown on free speech and political activism in Russia."
2 years in a gulag for 'hooliganism'. Can't say they didn't know they'd get in trouble, but I expect they thought they could plea bargain to a nice Moscow prison, or get off entirely like their 3rd bandmate.

Hmmm,
So much for expressive punk. Does rap go over well in Russia?

I remember when Joe "the Plumber" had his conversation with Obama and called him out on wealth redistribution. The media, rather than question Obama, proceeded to cut to shreds the life of Joe Wurzelbacher. The typical Saul Alinsky, Rules of Radicals approach. "Ridicule is your most potent weapon." "Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”
It begins with ridicule, ostracizing, separating. If left unchecked it goes to taking people away who disagree with you and “Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have.”
Few despotic regimes happen overnight.

I remember when the story broke- I watched the video on youtube of their performance.. it was rather polarizing if you are living in a communist state, but last I heard, russia was supposed to be a democracy now.. I had assumed they would get off with a light sentence (time served) or a fine or something...
1.5 years in the two harshest prisons in the country? Well, that's pretty harsh. But I guess they knew they would likely get in trouble, and most likely underestimated the wrath of putin. Shame.

No,,, Russia is fine,,,, They are only helping Iran develop a nuclear weapon, shipping weapons into Syria, encouraging al queda in these murders of Americans.
China is an economic threat , but Russia is still flexing a tremendous amount of military power that the big "O" wants us to ignore.
America is basically under attack,,,, You just don't know it. SAD, VERY SAD!

Have you heard about one of our new weapons? It is a EMP device that does not require a Nuclear blast. It can be put on an airplane to destroy specific targets.
And we also have all those great cross bred biological super germs that can be released on a population simply by infecting a few tourists.
Then we have the weapon that is capable of destroying America as we know it. They call themselves progressives.
