two new tunes up my my page....

so, i recently met this hot banjo player who relocated from Louisiana to (sorta) my neck of the woods. anyway he's wanting to put something together so last night we got together here w a gtrst/mando buddy of mine.

we introduced ourselves, grabbed a few cold ones, and started going around the room kicking around tunes. this guy has some serious chops and he's definitely NOT your grandpa's banjo player!

i had a cpl of cheap Behringer C-2's up in the room and we recorded to minidisc. my upright was clipping a little bit on the first tune but bass volume is better afterwards when i grabbed my fretless.

only had room for these two songs on my account page due to file size but there's a few more tunes we stumbled thru here:

we all enjoyed each other's playing and company so i'm hopeful this is going to go somehwhere. we'll see.

Freakin awesome Mark! I like that guitar picker a lot! In Minor swing I was thinking wow banjo is doing okay. Holy Crap, Pupville he sounds like a banjo picker! I would pursue this one the gig possibilities for a group like that are really good! I give it a 2 thumbs UP! I am going to soundclick now I liked it so much!

ahhh, grant....you're plenty worthy. thanks for the listen and thumbs up guys.

i'm excited about this on several levels. maybe number one, it being an op for me to get back to some regular upright playing. that big hoss just kicks me in the butt if i don't stay up on it.....and then...it STILL kicks me in the arse.
