You know,,, rather than just give you some feel good feed back, I went ahead and gave it a rough master so you can see where you are going wrong in recording. Not a bad song. just little things for you to figure out what you want to improve. Ask DAWG, recording is so subjective. I can't separate and fix that much with just a 2 track recording, but with just a little EQ,,, You guys sound damn good.

If you want I'll change it to downloadable, I just didn't want to do that without your permission.

I like it! 8)

More clarity, but way too much brightness.

Agreed . . . my shop recording is very close ( minus effects ) to what you get LIVE. Lots of bass, loud guitars, and tons of energy.

The boys don't want me to post any of the mixed and mastered stuff until the CD is complete. . . :(

You are right, but I was just trying to bring out the real positive feeling I was hearing. I was trying to bring up the vocals, the guitar was good but muddy. The drums were not quite on time so I tried to tone them down a bit.

This is not critique on any of the playing,,, all I changed was some of the eq.

It is very amazing how one sound can step all over another sound.

I like the song Sans,,, You keep your guys rockin'.

You know Mike some times to get a really good spread you have to listen to a mix under twenty different speaker configurations and tweak it. Just a point to say thanks for your input. :)

Agreed, although I don't use 20 myself. My 'mixing room', which is also my recording studio, computer room, dog sleeping room and guitar storage room has 3 speaker setups - computer mini boxes, M Audio self-powered monitors, and an old Sony stereo amp with some small bookshelf speakers. When I'm mixing one of my tunes I'll listen on all 3, then I'll burn a disc, throw it on my living room stereo (which has nice booming 12" woofers) and listen in my truck, too, which gives a nice comparison to balance stuff off.
