Why? Look around you, on this very board. Neocons who insist he has no chance or that he's a wacko. Of course there are extreme liberals who say the same thing. People in the middle - libertarians - are the ones who lose. Ron Paul is the only Republican I ever have - or ever will vote for, and only because he really wasn't a Republican at all. But rational thought has never been a big part of the average American voter. At this point all you can do is vote for the one you think will do the least amount of damage. Do you want to continue the wars in the middle east? Romney wants to increase the defense budget by $2 trillion to prepare for war with Iran. Romney is the anti-Paul.

I really don't care for the libertarian platform, but I agree he's a great deal better than the two clowns they insist we choose from.
I still say Jill Stein or Rocky Anderson are the BEST candidates and both are on the ballot in roughly 45 states.
I'm tired of voting against candidates, This year I'm voting FOR someone.

You're right. I shouldn't be surprised.

I will continue to vote for Ron Paul. That is all my conscience will allow.

I took an online test once, and not knowing they existed, my beliefs most closely aligned with the Constitution Party. They would get my vote if America wasn't in such dire straits.
ABO is the only way my conscience can go Nov. 6. I know Romney is an empty suit. Hopefully his power of the pen will lay lower than the current occupant and his 139 Presidential Orders and Marxist "we must force all Americans to have health insurance" regime.
I'd like America to at least retain a semblance of free markets and liberty to live life as I choose, not federal government Marxists. It is the United States of America, not the United Federal Government of Amerika.
Ron Paul is certainly a wise and practical man when it comes to domestic issues and some foreign affairs. But we do not live in a world of swords, muskets and cannons anymore. Taking a lax position against Islamic regimes having nukes is incredibly naive. [/i]

He would have the opportunity to bring real 'change' - and it would be painful for many - but ultimately it would refresh the nation.
This country will soon dissolve into a handful of nation states, starting as early as next year with Texas.

I know it is not that great of a choice Paul,,,
However Ron Paul is not a rock star. As right as he is, he would never win against a rock star, no matter how right he may be.
Unfortunately a vote for any one else will only translate into a vote for some one who has systematically transformed America into a land scape that is very scary.
When I find 80 year old people struggling so hard that they are eating dog food to supplement their meals,,,,, Don't tell me we are still living in the America I love.

You know, Glen, the poor have always been here. That will never change.
It is the Marxism of both parties to bring about forced taxation toward retirement and take money from people to give to other people when they stop working, when each should be allowed to use their own money to invest in their own retirement, which would render them more money, and retain the principle of personal responsibility and accountability.
Social Security is not secure, never really was, being just a money scheme, and soon will not be at all, simply because of the number of workers mounting to pay for one retired person. I always thought every person was putting money into an account with their name. I was totally uninformed, as most Americans have been about the scheme. Now, it is a sacred cow. No one will touch it. It is socialism and total denial of Constitutional provisions for limited government.
Edit
I should add, before anyone jumps down my throat, the beneficent organizations and the goodness of the American people had always been there to help the poor and deal with needs when they've arisen. Now the middle class are struggling, there is little to go around, and everything in America feels the pinch. All because of the federal government's schemes, abuse of powers, and Americans learning to care more about some movie star or sports figure than their own God given rights, citizenship, and national history.

I would have voted for Ron Paul if he had a viable standing in the race. The reality here is that he doesn't. It is unfortunate...
Voting for Ron Paul now, ... is just being
highly self indulgent, and quite possibly the most
useless participation one can muster up in an election...
America has been dealt a crappy hand to be sure. Forget voting your conscience... Instead, make a decision with what we got...and run with it.
OBAMA Vs ROMNEY. Voting on either makes you a real voter. Anything less than that is just being a pu**y, and you're just f**k America in the ass -
Thank you.

If every person who KNOWS he is right for America would have an actual SPINE he could win.

Voting for Ron Paul is doing the right thing even when weasels who know better won't.

If you think that They are in any way different you are a sheep. We are under a one party system.

Neanderpaul... You go ahead and vote for Ron Paul if that makes you feel important. But please do Tell us how that works out for you, (and for all the non-sheep) right after the election. I'd rather be a sheep, than somebody's favorite parrot. (Can you say "Cracker"?)
"Simpleton'? Really?... Now you're behaving like a bearded child.
I would like to see how you come up with a "One party System" thoery. Who really owns you NeanderPaul? Is it the Corporations (Sqwak!) ... Is it CIvil Service (Sqwak!) ...Is it the military? (Sqwak!) Is it Jimmy...? LOL!

in this case NP is correct,
if you believe in a candidate you should vote for him, even though he is going to lose. that is how you build support over time.
I don't vote for the guy who will win I vote for the guy who represents my views.
