Question about contacting members

Hey all! I'm fairly new to the site and was wondering if you could answer a question for me. I am a Premium member. If I contact someone who is not a premium member will they; 1- get my message, and 2-be able to respond? Thanks!!!

If they were once a premium member they will be notified they have a message but can't respond until they upgrade to a premium membership. That has been my experience in the past. Welcome to the site. Don't be dissapointed if you don't get a response quickly. Some folks only use the Premium membership when they are looking for new bands or members. After they find what they are looking for they let account go in-active. There is no way to determine who is and isn't a P.M. I have done this same thing when I first came to B.M. I have since discovered the value of communicating with musicians around the country that are experiencing the same problems as myself. Good luck!

I am no longer a PM and I can respond to messages sent me. Did they change something to cancel that, too?

They will let you do that for a little while to get you to renew your membership. I have had them send me an email that said your membership has been converted to free status. Meaning you can contact people. So I went and tried to contact someone and it wouldn't let me do it. I guess the answer is it depends on what mood the mothership is in LOL! Seriously!

I am talking about the personal message section. Not the forum.
The longest I have been able to message someone after my paid premium membership expires is about a week. Maybe they don't like conservatives, Mullets?

There seems to be some conflicting reports so, I figured I'd see for myself. Haha. I created a new account (which I'm going to delete so as to not contribute to useless crowding). It seems thta I can contact a member, and they can rely, without them being a Premier member. However, drumsinheart might be right about that being a trial thing.
