Bad Vibrations
Posted: Thu Sep 27, 2012 3:41 pmI am a pretty big Beach Boys fan and we cover several of their songs. I have mixed feelings about this Jimmy. I totally dig Brian Wilson and the impact he had on music but he has suffered from mental illness for a long time and is a shadow of his former self.
Like the once great Peter Green, Brian is hard to watch on stage and may not be up to the rigors of touring. Mike Love has made many aggressive legal moves to keep this band alive, and while being painted as the bad guy, he is probably the only reason The Beach Boys still exist at all. I think it's more complicated than the headline suggests and I wish the best for both of them.
