Got to open for Robin Trower, filling in as a second guitar in a Joe Satriani type instrumental band.
The gig just kind of fell in my lap. A packed venue handed to me on a silver platter...
I had heard over trower, and listened to a few snippets before the day of the show - I kind of blew it off ad "Ehhh... Sound like a white Englishman trying to be Hendrix".

I missed the time when he took the time to meet the rest of the band and take pictures with them - ...because I was to busy chatting up a girl and showing her around the green room, and all the cool backstage corridors...

What a dumbass.

Of course naturally after the fact I went on to actually start listening to his work, and now really appreciate it.

Once again... Im a dumbass...

He's a mesmerizing old geezer.

Lol, ya.
Actually it was our main hotshot other guitarist that warranted it, but I held down my end - as did the rest of the band.

DUMASS! Is right.

Been a Trower fan for over forty years. He was one of my main inspirations, and I know a lot of his material and can mimic his tone. But like a lot of "old farts" he's way into the blues now, which bores me. Those albums from the 70's were godshead!
