Not bad! I need to find a group (there are a few in my area, but none play my kind of music so I might have to try something new) to play with but I can definitely afford a used one to use until and during I start and am gigging

No shame in used gear. I actually prefer it. If I buy low I can try it out, use it keep it or sell it. As long as I take good care of it I can always resell for nearly what I paid. Over the years I have owned a dozen good amps. All bought used except the first one. SRV also preferred used gear.

I knew that! I love watching his live stuff and trying some of the things he did on mine. The man was unbelievably good. If I'm 75% as good as him when I die, I'll be okay with it. And what I wouldn't do for a vibratone

why don't you post a clip of "clean tone"
that way people know what you looking for.

I am always fascinated by what people call "clean tone"

an eq pedal is cheaper than an amp. you already have a decent amp.. it just needs EQing

the clean amp sound that I like is a Roland JC-120

if your having problems reduce the gain on the amp and roll off the volume on your guitar to start with

there are a lot of different clean tones, you may need to research the clean tone from some song that you like and find out what the artist was using for thier sound

I think thats a better way to go than asking us, cause all of us have different ideas of what a clean tone it to begin with

I dont have one, cause Im not really that into clean tones, most of my stuff is dirty sounding, but Ive played thru them before, they also made a JC-90, which is a bit smaller, and pretty damn loud

I play a Mesa Triple live, for my clean tone I back the gain off on my clean channel and crank the master, my eq's are around the mid position, but I tinker with them all the time, but what I did was did out this old Boss CS-3 compressor I have, and put it in front of my amp, basically I use it to boost the clean tone and roll the volume on my guitar way back and adjust eq at the guitar, I use a les paul, so its a little brighter than a strat anyway. But I use the compressor as a booster, to level out the level on the clean to match my dirty channels.

But then again in a 4 hour gig, I dont use the clean on a few songs, so its not really an issue with me

Good Luck

What Model Marshall are you using? I have a few amps but my favorite all around amp is the Marshall JCM 2000 DSL.

Yes indeed!

Get the Fender and never look back. EXACTLY the Bob Marley sound. He used mostly Fender Twin and Music Man amps. Pure Leo Fender.
